National Certificate in Animal Husbandry (Examined by DIT)
Admission requirements: A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the Certificate programme if he/she holds the Uganda Certificate of Education (“O” Level) or its equivalent, with at least five passes in any of the following subjects including English and Mathematics: Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Home Economics, Geography, Commerce and Entrepreneurship. A holder of a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Agriculture or biological sciences related field is also eligible for admission.
Duration: 2 years.
Career prospects: Assistant Animal Husbandry Officer, Farm Manager and Start own livestock farm.
Opportunities for further studies: Diploma in Agribusiness Management, Diploma in Sustainable Agriculture and Extension and Diploma in Animal Production and Management.
